  The seafood soup was fresh and flavorful!
  The miso soup was exquisite!
  
  Service OUT .... STANDING!
  
  1 basic roll ( Philadelphia roll)
  2 specialty rolls ( Angel roll and Mexican roll)
       Ugh! So delicious!

  I loved this restaurant when I lived in MV. To this day, I think their fried rice is the best I've ever had. Additionally, during some of the most terrible storms, their restaurant was always the only one to make deliveries.
  
  More important than all of that, however, is the service here. I will never forget the kindness bestowed upon me by an older woman (who may be one of the owners) in December of 2014. I'd just been through a terrible, terrible breakup. I was eating in the restaurant - the only one inside.
  
  Out of nowhere, in the middle of eating my miso soup, I started bawling. I couldn't stop. It wasn't loud or anything, but I just couldn't hold it together. The sweet lady came over and asked me what was wrong. There was a slight language barrier between us, but body language is always understood.
  
  She hugged me and let me hug her back for exactly how long I needed. Then, when I let go, she pushed my soup closer to me and rubbed my back - the same way my mother (who was 3,000 miles away) would've done if she'd been around.
  
  I will never forget that woman or this restaurant because of that. And every time I'm back home in NY, I try to go out of my way to stop by.
  
  For old times sake, of course.
  
  I highly recommend this place.

  Recently came here to partake in a glass of wine,  dining in of course. The staff members turned me away and said if I don't order food, I can't have wine. I never knew a food establishment made you order a complete meal to get a drink. But, there are many Japanese restaurants that would open me with open arms. They aren't accommodating or hospitable. I was bewildered enough to post this review.

  My wife and I were kicking around the neighborhood kind of late and decided we wanted dinner. We thought the restaurant might be closed because they had all the chairs up on the tables and the floor was freshly mopped, but the owner was very accommodating and seated us right away (and even dimmed the lights for the two of us).
  
  The food was also fantastic, and came out piping hot. I had the edamame, which were well steamed and salted, and the avocado salad, featuring a well ripened and cut avocado and a delicious spicy mayo dressing, as starters. But the real highlight of the meal was the chicken sambal. The chicken and vegetables were perfectly cooked and the sambal sauce was both savory and fiery. I ate all my other food and saved most of the sambal because I don't want it to be over. I'm going to have an awesome lunch tomorrow!

  I only have it 2 stars because my boyfriend said that his Alaska Rolls were " okay" and my shrimp and veggie tempura was edible.. But that was it. Today the forecast stated the high Was 98 degrees. In the restaurant, it was 90 degrees( according to their thermostat on the wall). The front door was open. The one fan they has was not on and neither was the AC. When we initially ordered, we requested to done in however, after placing our order and realizing that they doing even feel the need to turn on the fan, I asked for our order to be a take out order. After waiting for an extended time for our order ( two other people came in after us, ordered take out and recieved their food before us) they turned on the fan that was stationary.  I finally asked them of they can turn on the AC because it was 90 degrees in there and was told that our food was almost ready. At no time did they offer us water or apologize for the heat in the restaurant and not feeling the need to turn on the AC even when I asked. That is horrible..we went The Bayou on the next block and their establishment was air conditioned and they offered us water while we wait.
  I will never go back to Yoshina and pay almost 40 dollars for "ok" food. They lack customer service skills.
